For Policymakers

What we do today matters for both the short and the long-term well-being of those who call Humboldt home. That’s why we work collaboratively with our policymakers so that Humboldt can flourish.

There are many issues impacting our state and county that demand our policymakers’ attention. From crime and homelessness, to the environment and housing, the policy agenda can get crowded. Too often, the focus can be on the adult needs without also considering how children and families are impacted. First 5 Humboldt is a voice for young children and their families as we work towards a healthy Humboldt future. We partner with policymakers to highlight our local needs and collaborate on solutions.

Policy Agenda

Our elected leaders have the power to affect the lives of children and families with their policy decisions. That’s why First 5 Humboldt works closely with policymakers at every level to advocate and educate for policies, programs and budgets that prioritize the well-being of children and families.

Our Policy Agenda guides this work, and we welcome input and ideas as we revise it regularly.
