Quality Improvement Grants Wrapped

August 19, 2025

Spring 2024 saw a successful round of Early Childhood Educator Quality Improvement grants wrap up for childcare providers. This year 54 individuals and 38 childcare programs completed requirements to earn stipends for themselves or their programs.

Early Childhood Educators participated in 4 different grants under the QCH (Quality Counts Humboldt) umbrella. These include the IMPACT Legacy, Quality Improvement, CSPP-QRIS Block Grant and the Workforce Pathways Grants and are administered through a Consortium consisting of First 5 Humboldt, Humboldt County Office of Education and Changing Tides Family Services, among other agencies.

A total of 4318.75 hours of professional development, coaching, higher education, and other networking activities were tracked and verified for these participants, and they received a total of $221,958 in either individual or program stipends paid directly to them for their use in improving or maintaining a high-quality childcare program.

Program administrators are gearing up for another grant cycle, with informational sessions scheduled for August 26th (Online) and August 28th (In-Person) where interested parties can learn about the different grants, their requirements and who is eligible to apply and can get technical assistance with the applications.
