Starting September 1, all playgroup families—new and returning—will be asked to complete an annual registration form for the 2025–2026 fiscal year using our new online database, Apricot. This form only needs to be completed once per year and will apply to all playgroup locations, eliminating the need to fill out separate forms at each site. Families are encouraged to complete the registration form ahead of time, but it can also be filled out upon arrival at playgroup.
We’ve also moved from paper sign-in sheets to digital sign-ins using Google Forms. Each playgroup has its own online form, and every location is equipped with an iPad for families to use when they arrive. This change allows parents and caregivers to sign in before arriving—from home, in the car, or wherever is most convenient. We understand that juggling children and belongings can be challenging, so early sign-in helps streamline the experience and enhances privacy and data protection.
We deeply appreciate the flexibility of our playgroup leaders and families during this transition. While technology can present challenges, this new system will help us collect consistent data, improve reporting, and better demonstrate the impact of playgroups across Humboldt County.
